COMMON BOND CAPITAL

Impact Common Bond platform

Group identity, membership, contributions and local support in one digital operating environment.

The Phase 1 close-out report documents a platform built around Common Bond Groups: families, burial societies, church groups and other organised communities. Digital identity follows the group as well as the individual.

01 / PRODUCT PURPOSE

Communal life, brought online.

The product starts from the way communities already save, spend, support families and organise obligations together. Group leaders need an organised home for records, members and contributions without losing the relationships and traditions that make the group work.

The report uses the illustrative journeys of Mama Thandi and the Soweto Burial Society to explain group onboarding, payment oversight and culturally relevant local support. These are product narratives, not verified customer testimonials.

The report sets a 95% onboarding-completion target. This is a target, not a reported achieved performance result.

02 / GROUP CREATION

Give the group a permanent digital home.

Group leaders can create online communities, configure details and organise customised invitations. The report describes tools for Platform Administrators to initialise groups and assign trusted administrators to manage rules and membership.

A persistent group record replaces scattered paper notes and verbal memory with an organised digital record of who belongs, what rules apply and how activity is managed.

03 / MEMBER INVITATIONS

Bring members into a recognised group record.

Group administrators can invite existing platform users or people who have not yet registered. Digital links or codes support joining without relying on a physical paper sign-up meeting.

The report describes email verification pins and invitation-link testing as part of secure onboarding. Group membership and administrator permissions sit within the identity and role-control layer.

04 / WALLETS AND PAYMENTS

Make contributions visible and attributable.

The report documents personal digital wallets, wallet top-ups, group financial oversight and member references. Group leaders can see money moving in and out of the wallet and which members have contributed.

The October 2025 delivery record includes PayFast integration, member top-ups and payment edge-case testing. Retail-store and EFT journeys are described in the product experience. Availability of any payment channel must be confirmed for the relevant operational service.

Balances and transaction values shown in the extracted images are demonstration interface content, not a visitor’s account or a promise of benefit. CBC’s wider model preserves cash as a legitimate category to be recorded and coordinated alongside digital payments.

05 / MATSHEDISO CONFIGURATION

Configure support around the community’s traditions.

Group administrators can configure customised funeral support across the timeline from announcement through to after burial. The Matshediso Matrix allows the group to select local providers such as undertakers, caterers and drivers.

The Phase 1 report documents provider-configuration screens and backend tagging of funds. Provider selection and configuration should be distinguished from an independently verified live claims, payout or automated fulfilment service.

The Shield orchestrates the group mandate and provider workflow. Underwriting, payments, intermediation and actual fulfilment remain with appropriately licensed, authorised or contracted parties.

06 / ADMINISTRATOR OVERSIGHT

Keep the network’s health in view.

The Platform Administrator dashboard gives oversight of groups, active members, pending approvals and administrative resources. Support teams can manage users, review onboarding and monitor platform activity.

November 2025 delivery includes resource-management views and role-based access-control testing. The report identifies compliance placeholders for technical go-live; placeholders do not establish regulatory approval or permission to provide a regulated service.

07 / SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

A workspace that mirrors communal life.

Centralised workspace. Brings workflows, data and collaboration together for Common Bond Groups and the community financial services network.

Real-time intelligence. Turns operational information into clear dashboards for informed decisions.

Scalable growth engine. The architecture is designed to accommodate more groups, users and increasingly complex operating needs. These principles describe the design direction, not independently measured production capacity.

08 / DELIVERY RECORD

The Phase 1 milestones, August to November 2025.

August 2025: Secure access. User logins, email verification pins, authentication-provider integration, initial role-based dashboards, environment setup and a deployment strategy. QA included manual and exploratory testing and Cucumber BDD automation-framework setup.

September 2025: Building the community. Group-creation tools, prospective member invitations and central user-search and listing capabilities. Design included Invite, Request and Birthright enrolment workflows. QA covered email OTP and invitation reliability.

October 2025: Wallets and payments. Personal wallets, PayFast aggregator integration and top-ups. Design included mobile Add Funds and Pay actions. Development included retail cash-deposit integration, with payment edge-case testing.
